A family business that grew up on the grader.
Blackmore Earthmoving started more than 50 years ago in the Kilcoy area of South East Queensland, and the grader has stayed in the family across three generations since. For the last decade it has run in its current form under Jared, the founder's grandson and principal on every job. Same trade, same feel for the ground, same standard, handed straight down.
The focus has always been final trim grader work and the jobs that support it: kerb and pre-seal trim, formation grading and resheeting, bulk earthworks, drainage and stabilisation. Today that runs across DRFA packages, council road maintenance and subdivisions, often in remote country and largely self-sufficient. It now comes with the records councils and head contractors need to sign it off.
Meet the operatorOne trade, handed down.
The grader has stayed in the family for more than fifty years. The standard came with it.
It started on the grader
The family began grading the roads of the Kilcoy district, and the trade took hold.
The standard carried on
The same feel for the ground, and the same way of doing it right, passed to the next set of hands.
Jared, on every job
Owner-operator and principal on every job, now backed by the records councils and head contractors need to sign it off.
What every job is held to.
Four standards we work to, from the first phone call to the final sign-off.
Honesty
Straight scope and straight numbers. If a job isn't the right fit, we'll tell you. A good name in this trade is worth more than any single contract.
Trust
Owner-operated means the operator who priced the work is the one who does it and stands behind it. The responsibility doesn't get handed off to anyone else.
Quality
Work checked against the ITP, plant kept right, surfaces graded true. We finish a road the way we'd want it if we had to drive it every day.
Documentation
Photos, dockets, ITPs and sign-offs captured as the work goes in, then handed over in one pack you can take straight to an auditor.
From first call to final pack.
One operator, accountable at every step of the job.
